Under 12's

January 27th The Blues U12'a traveled up to Harpenden which was a lengthy journey. They put up a very impressive win against Harpenden winning 11-2. The team finally put together what they worked on during training sessions over the past months by driving and attacking the goal, then making passes when needed. The player of the day was Harry Dring who scored 4 goals and had 3 assists. Other notable players included Christinia Watts who added 2 goals and Tom Harris who also had 2 goals. Jay Baranowski scored a goal and also had an assist. Adam Bengeyfield and Sam Good two new blues players scored their first goals as well in the game. The play of the day came off a transition drive starting with Christina Watts running passed a number of Harpenden players passing the ball to Harry Dring who quickly passed off too Tom Harris for a shot and score. It was a beautiful site. WELL DONE BLUES! Sam Baranowski at longstick had an exceptional game picking up gorund balls left and right and clearing to the attacking zone. Defender Sam Thomson and goalkeeper Liam Rawlings played an excellent game fighting for lose balls and saving shots. The team really worked well with each other and seemed to have a great time. WAY TO GO U12's! Under 12's vs Spencer - 13.01.08 "The Under 12s looked much improved in their match against Spencer compared to just a month before against the same squad. The defense was anchored by Liam in goal who once again made awesome saves. The defenders (Sam T and Jay) struck fear into the opponents with some precise stick and body checks. Sam B, Tom, Adam, Holly, Christina, and Kieran did a great job in the midfield of running tirelessly up and down the pitch, despite Spencer's copious amount of fresh middies coming off the bench. The middies also had step down to attack to catch their breath as we were a bit short on numbers compared to the opponent. A special congratulations to the man of the match, Patrick. Patrick got his first goal (a laser to the lower left corner) which was set up by a well timed pick from Sam B. The score (1-11) does not accurately reflect the emotion and intensity of the game as their were several unsuccessful shots on goal that will be going in in the near future; especially if the Blues improvement offensively continues as it has been all season. The Blues could use some improvement on groundballs and clearing, areas that will be addressed in training. All in all it was the best the Blues offense had looked this season. Well done Blues!" -Cole Sloan
